What’s new in Apple’s iOS 4

iPhone’s new operating system which was announced today in WWDC which will roll out with the brand new iPhone4 next month adding on it will also be available free of cost as a free software update on all the devices viz iPad, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and second and third generation iPod touch (32GB / 64GB).

This new Operating system contains 100 new features and upgraded features, in the keynote address WWDC Steve Jobs pointed out some new features in iOS 4 which includes

1) Multitasking,

2) iBooks,

3) Advertising

4) File management.

Because of shortage of time to cover all the new features and upgrades, some of the features which went unnoticed were

5) App gifting,

6) Bluetooth-enabled wireless keyboards support

7) Much anticipated Mail app?s major facelift

8 ) App organization functionality – Easy and clean app organizer where user can now place there apps into different folders (drag-and-drop functionality) for better accessibility and better organization. On top of that iOS4 is made to manage up to 2160 applications ina device.

9) Email feature in iOS4 ie total revamped you can view messages from all the accounts in single inbox, open attachments with third party apps along with integrated spell checker.

10) Custom playlist creation for iTunes

11) Tap-to-focus video,

12) 5x zoom for camera functions, and

13) Photos feature ?Faces and Places? which will allow to sort and view photos based on where they were taken and who appears in them.
