Robot assisted surgeries is turning towards reality. Some researchers are already busy working on an entirely autonomous robot arm that is capable of taking biopsies on humans based on ultrasound data. These arms are under test on turkeys and the results are impressive. Of course, we’re still quite far away from having a full surgery performed on us autonomously by a robot, but it’s nice to know that we’re heading in that direction.
