Cardcloud founded by Renato Valdés Olmos and Paul Geurts, formerly known as My Name Is E allows users to create and exchange an unlimited amount of online business cards. Interestingly, recipients do not need to have any apps installed on their phones, as Cardcloud users can send their contact details and whatnot directly to an email address and Cardcloud will deliver a beautifully formatted card directly to the recipient’s inbox. Needless to say, that makes Cardcloud a great alternative for exchanging traditional business cards. Users can rapidly share (“beam”) their Cardcloud cards with people who do have the app installed on their phone, and the service works across different platforms (free, iPhone, Android )

To use Cardcloud log into Cardcloud account or sign up directly by creating your first card by selecting your existing contact information from your phone’s address book, or by entering the info manually. You can create multiple cards. This way, you can have share info with business contacts, or rather have a personal card to send out. Freelancers working for multiple companies can create as many cards as they want. You can edit contact information, profile pictures, logos, and social networking profiles for each card you create.

Cardcloud also has the added advantage of solid event integration, making it an ideal option for the worldwide tech start-up scene and its many conferences. Information included in your digital business card can be anything from links to your social networks (supports over 50 online services), a profile picture, your company logo, and contact information, all of which is also stored on a vCard. Just like old fashioned business cards, you can add simple notes to cards. But it doesn’t stop there: add tags to index a person and even rate their importance. Every card you exchange directly or send by email can be saved immediately to your phone, computer or other device through the standard vCard (.vcf) format.

Cardcloud allows you to remember more about your new contacts. For each exchange, information is stored about the person you met. Remember who you met when, where and how. See where you met. Add a note. Was it at a conference, or perhaps a trade fair?
